It has been revealed that two Fantastic Four films (2005s The Fantastic Four and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer) have been removed from Disney Plus in the United States. This means that the only Fantastic Four left on the streaming platform is Josh Tranks. FANT4STIC.
It’s easily one of the worst comic book movies ever made, but I won’t go into what happened with Josh Tranks. The Fantastic Four movie in this article. I wanted to discuss what Marvel removing the two previous Fantastic Four movies from Disney Plus means for the future of Marvel’s First Family.
Well, it’s already been revealed that Marvel Studios is working on a new Fantastic Four movie. This was revealed by Marvel President Kevin Feige at Disney’s Investors Day event last year. Feige also revealed that the film will be directed by Spider-Man director Jon Watts.
It was long assumed that Ant-Man’s Peyton Reed was going to direct the film – mainly because he’s said on several occasions that he would like to bring the Fantastic Four to the big screen. However, Watts got the gig from the Fantastic Four movie, and Reed had to do Ant-Man 3 (Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantomania).
Why did Marvel remove the 2005 and 2007 Fantastic Four movies from Disney Plus?

So what does it mean that Marvel is ditching the Fantastic Four movies of 2005 and 2007? That means they don’t really want people to watch these movies. They don’t want the brand to be watered down by previous films. It also means that Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four movie is not expected to be on the streaming platform any longer. At least that’s what I expect will happen.
All of the previous Fantastic Four movies were made by 20th Century Fox and if you watch the Marvel movies on Disney Plus they’ve all been under the âMarvel Legacy Moviesâ section. I always thought they could leave them there for people to enjoy as they please.
However, it seems Marvel Studios is keen on audiences forgetting the previous Fantastic Four movies and looking to the shiny new one that’s just around the corner. Now if those movies had been good they might have ended up staying on Disney Plus.
Looking forward to the MCU’s Fantastic Four pic

I mean, all the X-Men movies are up there, and the majority of them were pretty good (except X-Men: The Final Showdown, X-Men Origins: Wolverine and X-Men: Apocalypse which were all pretty bad). It’s going to be interesting to see which director Marvel decides to integrate the First Family into.
Are they going ‘by the book’, or will they decide to mix things up a bit? I think they’re going to âwowâ the Fantastic Four franchise and make it a real winner. The Fantastic Four deserve to be on the big screen and we deserve a real good Fantastic Four movie. They’ve all been pretty much all smelly so far, and the comics are so important and legendary that it’s literally a parody that they haven’t yet been introduced to the MCU.
