PJC organizes musical and artistic events on Mondays and Tuesdays

Two free musical evenings, as well as a welcome for art students with awards ceremony, will take place Monday and Tuesday at the Junior College in Paris. A student recital will take place on Monday, December 6, 2021 at 7 p.m. On Tuesday, December 7, the Fall Student Art and Awards Show will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., and a Christmas concert and carols will be at 7 p.m.

Monday’s event features vocal, piano and guitar students performing their semester projects in the J. Emory Shaw Recital Hall of the Music Building at 7:00 p.m.

Tuesday’s opening reception for the fall student art exhibit is at 4 p.m., with prizes awarded at 5 p.m. in photography, drawing, design and ceramics. The works of art from the fall semester will be exhibited at the Galerie du Foyer from December 7 to 14.

Tuesday’s concert will take place in the beautiful DeShong Chapel at 7 p.m. The concert and Christmas carol encourages the audience to join in the celebration of many favorites.

“Piano, voice and guitar students will perform in the music recital they have performed throughout the semester,” said Dr. Michael Holderer, PJC music teacher and choir director. “The Christmas concert and carols include old and new Christmas favorites.”
