Power Book II: Ghost is back on our screens and delivers the drama and action viewers have come to expect. The series stars Michael Rainey Jr. as Tariq St. Patrick, following the teenager as he navigates life after the loss of his father, James “Ghost” St. Patrick. He follows in his father’s footsteps as a drug dealer trying to support his family and gets involved in the Tejada crime family, bringing various issues and hardships into his life.
The second season also introduced a character named Mecca. Mecca is a supplier of drugs, but other than that viewers don’t know much about him. More information will be revealed in time, but showrunner Courtney Kemp let a few details slip in a conversation on Instagram Live.
Who is the Mecca in “Power Book II: Ghost”?
Starz first announced the character in February and made it clear that he would be one to watch. “He is calculated, manipulative and dangerous”, Deadline reported. âMecca is reappearing in New York at the exact moment the Tejadas need to fill the void of a new supplier of products. But when her mysterious past begins to be revealed, it reveals that drug trafficking may not be her only end with this family. “
It turns out that Mecca also has a past with Monet Tejada – but she knows him as Dante. She was involved with him as a teenager and got pregnant with him at one point. But she chose to keep it a secret and raise their son, Zeke, as her nephew.
Finally stable, Mecca tells Monet that he wants her to leave Lorenzo Tejada to be with him. But he clearly has other motivations. “I can tell he comes with an agenda,” said Daniel Sunjata, who plays the role of the supplier. tv fanatic. “He’s pretty much ready to do whatever he needs to do to produce the desired result and gets a little messy.”
Monet ends up giving in and kisses her in one episode after initially resisting her.

Kemp shared new information about Mecca
With fans desperate for more, Kemp continued Instagram Live to answer questions the rest of the season. When asked about Mecca, she was careful not to reveal any spoilers. But she did share information about him and the people around him, including his boss, who doubles as an assassin.
“He’s a former soldier,” she said of Mecca at around 33:00. “And so these guys he’s with, they’re all people he’s kind of served or worked with.”
She said fans will learn more as the series progresses, including what Monet told Zeke about his parents. All viewers know so far is that Zeke spent time in the South before returning to New York City as a teenager.
Explaining his background in the very first episode, Zeke told Tariq that his aunt and cousins ââlived in the city, but noted that he, Cane, Dru, and Diana were more like siblings.
