Top-rated TV show The Real Housewives of Cheshire brought a touch of celebrity sparkle to Shropshire – after filming at an award-winning vineyard in the county.
The stars of the reality show spent a day at the Hencote Estate in Shrewsbury as they filmed scenes for the show’s final episode, which aired on ITVBe on November 22.
Stars Lauren Simon, Nicole Sealey and Debbie Davies visited Hencote earlier this summer to film the show. They tasted some of Hencote’s award-winning wines, took a tour of the vineyard with winemaker Gavin Patterson, and learned about the gossip.
The housewives gave Hencote a huge boost – describing the place as “absolutely gorgeous”, “absolutely gorgeous” and praising the wine and cheese they tasted. Debbie told viewers, “Love it today.”
Hencote Managing Director Mark Stevens said the estate is thrilled to host the show.
“It was a real pleasure to welcome the housewives to Hencote and to get a glimpse of what makes such a successful show.
“Hencote really reflects the sleek and glamorous lifestyles of the ladies on the program and it matched the bill perfectly.
“We vowed to keep the set a secret until the program aired and we were delighted with the way the estate presented itself on the show. Housewives are welcome here anytime they want to come.
In the final episode, the housewives returned to Cheshire with a spring in their step after a trip to Edinburgh and excited at the prospect of a number of parties, but the trio’s visit to Shropshire ended by a drama.
The Real Housewives of Cheshire continues Mondays at 9 p.m. on ITVBe and ITV Hub.
